Luteca was founded in New York in 2015 by husband and wife, Amanda and Sebastian Reant with a passion to highlight modernist and contemporary Mexican design.

Wanting to build on Mexico’s illustrious design legacy, their goal is to pioneer beautiful and timeless modern pieces to a global audience. Uniquely, they strive to produce creations that stem from Mexico and Latin America's deep cultural heritage, designed by some of the best Mexican talent and concurrently infused with tenets of traditional craftsmanship.

Although Luteca will continue to find and produce contemporary collectible pieces from Mexico’s design masters, they also want it to be a platform to showcase the work of Latin America’s most exciting young designers. This dynamic tension between past and present and unexpected mix of influences is just what the company is all about.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

Every Luteca piece is meticulously finished by hand. We don’t cut corners to manufacture mass-produced furniture. Instead, our pieces require an intricate level of finishing from individual Mexican artisans.

Our stainless steel coffee tables can take up to 300 hours of polishing, while wooden pieces are made from sustainable hardwoods, which are carefully handpicked and color matched to provide the exact design features that we desire. The combination of classic Scandinavian wood joinery and techniques used by Japanese craftsman in the 1920s are all seen in the meticulous construction of our designs.

We uphold the traditions of mid-century craftsmanship while making use of advanced production techniques to create pieces that are timeless, beautiful and detailed in their manufacture. It is a combination of old and new Mexico that makes what we do so unique.
